Jim Rumbaugh
Head Coach
Jim has most recently been serving as Head Coach of Tennessee Aquatics and as a volunteer assistant coach for the Men's Swimming program at the University of Tennessee. He also coached seven years at Dynamo Swim Team in Atlanta and also served as Head Coach of Lompoc Tsunami Swim Team in Lompoc CA. He was a team captain of the University of Tennessee Men's team for two years, was a five time All-American. Jim is married and is a 3rd degree black-belt in Taekwondo and is an avid golfer.

Jackie Bussard-Bertucci
Head Age Group Coach
Jackie is the daughter of legendary UT and Olympic coach Ray Bussard, is head age group coach. She joined Pilot as a coach in 1994 and has since become one of the top young swim coaches in the country. Jackie was named the Southeastern Swimming Age Group Coach of the year in 1999, 2002, 2003, Age Group Chair of Southeastern swimming 2002-2006 and she was named Head Coach of the Southeastern Zone All-Star Team in 1999, 2000 and 2001. Prior to coming to Pilot, Jackie coached for several years with the UT Continuing Education swim program and at swim camps at Mercersberg, PA, St. Lawrence, NY and St. Bonaventure, NY. Jackie enjoys giving swimming lessons and spending time with her boys – husband, Chris, and sons, Henry and Stephen.

Andy Wagner
Assistant Senior Coach
One of our most recent acquisitions, Andy brings the Pilot staff a variety of experience and swimming knowledge. A Mercersburg Pennsylvania native, Andy was a competitive swimmer for 15 years, and has been coaching various levels of swimming since the summer of 1998. Andy is also graduate with a BA in Geography from the University of Tennessee and a familiar face in the Knoxville swimming community. He has contributed to the success of several programs in the area, and is looking forward to being an integral part of Pilot Aquatics.

Lizzie Fleming,
Junior Group
Lizzie is thrilled to re-join the Pilot coaching staff and family. Lizzie has been very involved in Summer League and High School swimming in Knoxville since 1998. Lizzie just completed her 6th season as head coach of the Gulfwood Gators. The Gators had a great season finishing top 8 at the GKAISA City Meet. On the high school front, she will begin her 6th season with Webb School of Knoxville, where she was named Women’s co-coach of the year in 2006. She has developed numerous city and state meet finalists and the team has been state runner-ups for the past 3 years. As a swimmer, Lizzie swam for Webb School and was a 4 year letter recipient and state finalist. She completed her swimming career as a member of the Radford University swim club. Outside of the pool, Lizzie lives in Knoxville with her husband, Danny Fleming.

Brett Tannhauser,
High School Pre-Competitive Group
Brett is from Seattle Washington. He has been swimming since he was eight and it has been in his life ever since. Brett started year round swimming when he was ten for Shilshole Aquatic Club, which is now called Salmon Bay. While swimming for them he was a National qualifier as well as an Olympic Trial Qualifier. In high school, he was seven time State Champion in the 200 free and 500 free as well as State Record holder in both events. After high school, Brett went to the University of Tennessee where he swam for four years. During those years at UT, he was SEC champion, twice once in the 500 free and once in the 800 free relay and was an All American and four-time letter winner. Brett graduated UT in May 2003 with a degree in Communications and minor in Information Science. Brett coaches the Cherokee Country Club swim team. Brett & wife, Summer live in Knoxville and Brett teaches at Episcopal School of Knoxville

Stephen "Boogie" Langdon,
Black Group
As a native of Knoxville, he has been involved in swimming since he was four. He graduated from Webb High School and is currently finishing up a degree in exercise science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He has coached for Village Green for five years, Farragut High School for three years, is finishing up his first year as head coach of Green Meadow Swim Team with a league championship. This fall he will be the head coach for Bearden High School and starting his second year with Pilot.

Alex Deffaa
Gold Group
Alex is starting her second year with Pilot assisting with the Gold Group and heading the Pre Competitive Group. She is from New Jersey and swam for her club team New Jersey Wave up until high school where she went to a boarding school in New York to focus more on her swimming. After high school she swam at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland where she held top ten times, team records and conference wins. During her past ten summers, Alex has worked with the Head UT Swim coach John Trembley at his outstanding swim camps. Currently, Alex is studying at UT to get her Master of Science in Sport Management in dreams of working for her New York Yankees.

Ashley Jahn
Red Group
Ashley Jahn will be starting her second year with Pilot Aquatic Club’ s Red Group. The Medford, Oregon native swam for Superior Aquatics, where she earned numerous “Top 5” in the state awards. After graduating from high school, Ashley swam for the United States Air Force Academy from 1999-2002. Ashley and her husband, Nick, moved to Knoxville in August 2008 for graduate school at UT. Ashley is currently the graduate assistant for the Lady Volunteer’s swimming program. She is an assistant coach for the Village Green Gators summer league team and is the coach for UT Masters.

Ashley Quinn
Red Group
Ashley is a former Pilot swimmer, she swam for Pilot Aquatic Club during high school, where she attended Farragut High School. She just finished her career with the Lady Volunteers and graduated with a B.S. in Business & Marketing. She currently coaches for the Bennington Farrington Barracudas in GKAISA and coaches for Hardin Valley Academy during the year.
