2009 Zone All Star Team Information
11-12, 13-14, and 15-18 swimmers are eligible to apply for this All Star Team for our LSC Southeastern Swimming.
The Southeastern All Star team is selected by using times from the Southeastern Long Course Championships and the Summer Sectional Meets only. Zones will be in Orlando, FL this year. Swimmers will be fully geared by Swim and Tri and one of our own coaches will be on staff, Brett Tannhauser.

Please sign up. You could be one of the lucky ones who received this honor to go on an All Star Team Trip. Pilot usually places 5-10 swimmers each year. If you have any questions about the selection process contact Jackie.

Zone Team Information Page

FYI: Zone selection uses a cap time standard to calculate your points. The time standards used to determine eligibility for the 2009 Zone Meet will be the Summer 2009 US Open Standard (i.e. Swimmers who have achieved at least one individual Summer 2009 US Open
Standard will not be allowed to participate in the Zone Meet). Swimmer who have achieved a December National Championship Standard WILL BE ALLOWED to participate so long as they have not achieved
the Summer 2009 US Open Standard.

NEW INFO ON GROCERY CARDS!
Due to popular demand I am going to change my scheduled time at the pool. A number of parents have told me that Saturday morning is not good for them. In order to accommodate parents wanting to purchase grocery cards I will be at the pool on Tuesday mornings from 8-9am and Thursday evenings from 5-6pm. I may be there at other times as well and you can always e-mail me at wallacelyde@bellsouth.net  and I will try to accommodate you. I will however be out of town all of next week. That should be the only time I am gone for the rest of the season..
Thanks,
Everette Lyde

PACK Fuels the Fire in Hotlanta
Pilot Aquatic Club Seniors attended the Betsy Dubar Invitational in Atlanta, Ga his past weekend with three major goals in mind:  Swim as fast as possible, make adjustments where needed from the PACK Invitational, and have some fun.

Head Coach Jim Rumbaugh was pleased with the team’s progress over the past two weeks:

“The kids are showing good progress in the learning process and adjusting to mistakes they’ve made in the past.  Most of the team’s swims were good improvements.  And even though they are tired, we’re already starting to swim faster with new technique. ”

The team also took part in quite a few activities while staying in Atlanta.  The team had dinner at Dave and Busters, a restaurant that serves everything from wings to steak, and provides interactive and video gaming as part of the entertainment.

Following the Sunday session of the meet, the team hiked Stone Mountain.  Stone Mountain is one of the largest exposed pieces of granite in the world, and also serves as a memorial to three figures of the Confederate States of America which are carved in the side of the mountain: Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, and Jefferson Davis.

The team finished up the trip with a trip to Six Flags over Georgia.  It was a perfect day for attending a theme park, as there were almost no lines to wait in.  As a result everyone was able to ride many rides more than once and experience a lot of the park in one day’s time.

Pilot Aquatic Club is now looking forward to its Senior Invitational, hosted here in Knoxville from June 11th through the 14th at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
